Most of our customers are old folks who have no idea of internet banking, so we get cheques, having no bank locally I have to post them. I make up the bill, take it with me, do the job and post it. Bigger jobs from the council is all done by internet. As long as we get paid I’m don’t care what method they use😀
Hi Lyn, not sure if your aware but most banks now allow you to scan a cheque. If you use Internet banking on an ipad or smart phone simply login to your online bank account and look for the option to scan a cheque, scan it in and usually 3 days later it clears. I found the ipad had a better camera and scanned first time my smart phone couldn't scan it to the banks satisfaction so if your phone don't work and you have an Android or Apple iPad use that.

Thanks a lot for your answers everyone. In the end, I did some more researches and did give a try to the Banked app. First feeling is that it's pretty practical, I send a link that I create with the app to my clients, and they can pay me by just clicking on it and go through a quick process. A bit like Paypal but free. Payment is real time as well, no need to wait for 3 like payments by card. The only negative I would think of right now is that I always have to explain to my clients what exactly this link is about as most of them have never seen this in the past, and this is quite painful, but clients seem to like it once they have gone through the process the first time. Also it is iOS only at the moment, though you don't requite the app to process the payment, just to request it. I will post an other update in a few weeks if I have more to share, positive or negative. Thanks again everyone, appreciate it
