    Good lord @Hostafan1, you must have acres, I am struggling to visualize what eighty bags would look like!  Where do you put them all?

    Wouldn't it be better if they came in a green colour?  I also think that compost and gro-bags should be dirt coloured!  Do you find prunings/grass cuttings rot down well in those?

    those are layered up with grass clippings and woodchip from the tree surgeons, left to their own devices for 6 months or so and ready to use as mulch

    Wouldn't leaf drop build up to create it's own mulch over time? I must say I wouldn't have the energy or will to bag all that up and I'd leave that area to become natural forest floor!

    I want the mulch for elsewhere , not under the trees. 
    Leaving it "to become a natural forest floor" = letting brambles take over as they have done elsewhere in the garden.
