SGL and M-U thanks for giving me the biggest smiles of the day.
M-U, the more I read the more I kept saying 'yes, true'. That list is so well observed and I will chortle about it for weeks.

M-U, for the past few years I have opted out of it all apart from the cards.  Makes life more relaxing. Eat and drink what I want and when I feel like it.  I have twelve unread books.

    Evening to all.
It's horrible weather outside. Despite everything my delivery arrived and food for my animals and new Christmas lights are here.

MU, I was in UK at summer time four years ago. Next time I want to come in this period, around Christmas.

SGL, you have the advent calendar same as me.😁

    Evening everyone🙂

Sunday lunch with the family went well yesterday. Christmas presents etc exchanged as we won't see them again before Christmas.

Seems my nephew was caught up in the horrible events on London Bridge on Friday. He got off the bus at just the wrong time and ended up being locked in Costa Coffee for a couple of hours while police dealt with things and made the area safe.

To make things worse his phone battery was out of charge. My poor SIL (not easily given to panic) knew he was heading for London Bridge at lunchtime so, when she heard the news, she tried to contact him several times (with no reply obviously) for about 4 hours before she eventually learned he was ok. I think she had a very large G&T that evening...

My father was in Harrods when the IRA bomb went off there killing several people. I was outside the Wimpey Bar in Oxford Street 5 minutes before a bomb went off there killing a bomb disposal guy (both in the 1980's). It's sobering how close these things can be....

SGL - I have an advent calendar like that😁
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

Glad all your animal food arrived desite the weather Ante. T'Bird, I'm so glad your meal went well but oh what a scary time for your SIL. Thank goodness your nephew was safe. Your family and you have had some very near misses but it must have made you very aware of your own mortality and how easy it is for people who want to, to do evil things. Similar for you M-U.
