I can think of some circumstances where I might do it ... when offspring canāt visit but want to be reassured that a parent in hospital is ok.Ā
But in general itās good manners not to do stuff that impacts on other patients and their visitors. . Ā Itās also a good idea to try to shut out whateverās going on at other bedsides, otherwise it is very irritating. šĀ

When we had our first baby my wife was in a ward room in the hospital with three other beds and one lady there must have spent hours face timing her whole phonebook while the other women and babies tried to get some sleep. Luckily she was discharged very promptly.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
No excuse for that @wild edges. I'd have been having a word with the staff. Or sending hubby to do it. Mums need to rest as much as they can at that point. My MIL and her sister turned up to 'visit' when we were all having the little quiet time to get a sleep. Not sure how she even got in. I would have been very happy if someone had spoken to the staff about it - I'd been in labour for nearly a day - I was too knackered at that point

They wouldnāt have got past Sister Futtock ... she was very stern with visitors (but lovely with us Mums). She used to bring her two little dogs in to see us before she went off shift ... she said there was no hygiene issue as her dogs had a bath every week and she was sure some of the visitors didnāt š
