  • That’s great, I was hoping I would be able to use these cereals, thank you for the confirmation @Fairygirl and @wild edges Will definitely wait for a nice dry day to give it to the birdies 😄

Mind and not put them in a bowl with milk - they can't manage the spoon.... ;)

A bird the size of a small starling flew past in a flash of black and white. Up and down flight like a tit. What might it be?

It looked too big and round for a wagtail if you know what i mean😊 Maybe a chaffinch but we don't get them around here as far as I know but it still seems a bit large. It was the size of it that caught my attention.

    Do you get warblers?
and no - there isn't an ointment for that....

Some of them have quite white/dark feathers.

Never seen one. I find a good stiff drink gets rid of them😉
Large for london gardens and a little river a few hundred yards away means the odd intrepid stranger visits.

What about a coal tit? I can't get an idea of the size from Google images.

They're small. Like blue tit in size, but a bit chunkier.

    Buntings of some kind?

It will have to remain a mystery unless he flashes past again. He had been about to land and got scared off by a squirrel.
