Chicken satay for dinner here Runners. Easy to make, tasty to eat - what’s not to like? Lovely to see an old friend.
Chive - no we didn’t go out yesterday. Had a very nice dinner at home and we were going out today but OH has the lurgy so we’re snuggled in front of the fire instead. I’m off to Cambridge Uni for a 3 day residential course tomorrow which I’m really looking forward to. That’s a big treat!
Rubee - when you’ve done your kitchen woodwork - could you come and do my stairs please?🙂
Shower enclosure fixed and then some! The shower was put in nearly 9 years ago but the enclosure has a 10 year warranty on it. Engineer has replaced all the top track where the problem was but he’s also replaced some other parts which are currently ok but can wear out after time.
While he was here I asked if he’d have a quick look at a second enclosure in the main bathroom just to make sure it was ok. He decided he might as well replace the top track on that (even though it’s fine at the moment) because it might fail in the future and he also replaced all the other little consumables on it.
All done under warranty. Excellent customer service!
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Afties all. Great news about the various shower problems being sorted. Runners you have a treasure in your cubby man and T'Bird your Engineer sounds like a good 'un as well. Joyce, I was remarkably restrained at the GC once I'd picked up my bird food. I bought some nice birthday cards and two packs of Erythroniums. I checked them all carefully to make sure the tubers weren't damaged or mouldy. The GC experience was not all that brilliant as they decided it would be a good idea to have every sort of scented candle in existence threaded through the C*******s stuff and the clothing. In about 10 seconds I was coughing! This particular centre used to be Wyevale but it was taken over by British Garden Centres and I have to say that I'm not impressed much. I got Jack the cat sitter's new phones set up for him - job list done. I've just been pottering since. Sewn up some of the baubles for the wreath but they will have to be done a few at a time as they are fiddly wee things. Caused carnage in the bedroom as I knocked an orchid off the chest of drawers - much swearing as I had to do Col TT stuff which is beyond tedious. Luckily the orchid compost was dry.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Hello PF - you snuckered in there. Got everything crossed the various scents will cause a chilled out atmosphere - well at least you and Mr M might be chilled out. I await tomorrow's update. Had some rain here this aft but it wasn't anything too severe. Having said that, there is a big black cloud over the fields across the road.

Honestly LB, I'm getting two tubs every week from the SM!
I used to think what with not having a GC near here I was immune to plant purchasing but Morrisons has a big selection of plants when you walk in and another by the till....
Pansy - it’s fortunate that your vet ‘knows’ Elsa. Fingers crossed the calming chemicals work. I always found the Feliway to be quite effective. I’ll join you with the joss sticks and cheesecloth and meditate on a calm household for you.
Joyce - always good to get the garden bins filled🙂
LB - kind of you to sort out Jack’s phone. Our local Wyevale has been taken over by Dobbies. I have to say it’s MUCH improved.
Chey - 2 tins of hot chocolate a week... That’s a lot. A lot of sugar in HC (I know - nag, nag, nag) Proper cocoa would be a healthier option - and you could use it to bake us a chocolate cake... Thanks for the birthday wishes x
Do understand the temptation of HC though. It’s been wet through all day here and, after a mild start, it’s gone really cold. Taste of things to come methinks.

T'bird, a very successful visit from your shower man. Hope you enjoy your course. Keeps the grey matter active.
Chive, enjoy your break and fingers crossed for some good weather for you.
RB, your cubby man is like my grass chap. Great for the doing the jobs we can no longer cope with.
Yes Pansy - about half an hour ago it went black here and there was a torrential downpour.
I'm practically going to be a shareholder in hot chocolate at this rate!

I can smell roast lamb from my neighbour's flat and I'm starving..
