Sorry @ElizaRose, but I don't see what the problem is. They've sorted out their garden, the emphasis being on the word 'their'. Concentrate on your own instead so that it's a nice place to be in.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Wow the unpleasantness in here! I explained that I never ever said to this neighbour what she should and shouldn’t do. I f she had taken care of her garden on a yearly basis and kept things in control she wouldn’t have thought to take things down so radically. My former neighbour did just that. Furthermore, my husband and I have worked all summer on taking care of of our garden; however I have been ill twice since August and not been able to set things they way I would like. I’ve just spent the last three hours cleaning up the garden. This will be the last time I post here. Some of you have been helpful, but I’ve always detected a streak of nastiness here, good-bye.
What did you expect? You moan about a neighbours garden and then go in a huff when people suggest you've got no right to moan about that. Take a fresh look at what you're saying and think twice before you type.
A few years ago we ripped everything out of our garden with the exception of a crab apple and a fargesia bamboo. The old plants had mostly been planted before we moved in and were well past their best. They were leggy, woody and the best option from our viewpoint was to remove them completely and start again. The neighbour here has been complained to about plants being overgrown so has taken severe action to address the situation. Parts of the rose may have looked good from the adjoining garden, but probably were nothing but bear stem to them.
With the exception of a tree with a TPO, nobody has a right to dictate what planting a neighbour wants to remove.
