  • Have already brought in some more yellow/orange Roma's to finish off from my outside plants, as you say it gives cold nights this week, possible frost here.

Luckily ours are just about finished ripening, it has been a good year in the glasshouse.

It's raining so much the outside toms are splitting with too much water uptake. Everything else is being drowned,  good job I have reasonable drainage.

I love green tomato chutney my wife made a batch yesterday, home grown toms, home grown apples, home grown chilli, what a faff but hopefully worth it with some cheese and crackers.

Yesterday I made up pots of pasta sauce, today another lot of soup, getting fed up with tomatoes now,  freezers full of pots and containers, what with that and the frozen runner beans, that I know I will throw away because we don’t like them frozen.  Just have to do it though, you’ve grown it, you must freeze it.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

I've put a load of ripe tomatoes in the feezer. I'll get round to making sauce eventually.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

My chest freezer is now full. Anything I make from now on has to be eaten.😁
