  • I'm getting totally confused now, aren't Chaenomeles Quince??? is that the same or like a Crab Apple??

     I am so sorry.I was merely trying to illustrate that by cutting different fruits open can aid id problems/difficulties
    Yes Chaenomeles is also commonly called Japanese quince.
    No relation to Malus ..apple.

    Chaenomeles is Japanese quince and not a crab apple which is Malus.

    Exactly...that is the point I am trying to make.
    No matter how tiny Malus or apple of any sp...look just like an apple when you half them.
