    Yes Chaenomeles is also commonly called Japanese quince.
    No relation to Malus ..apple.

    I just cut one of my crab apples and it looks just like a normal apple, the cotoneaster berries are to small

    Chaenomeles is Japanese quince and not a crab apple which is Malus.

    Exactly...that is the point I am trying to make.
    No matter how tiny Malus or apple of any sp...look just like an apple when you half them.

    So if 'cassie' who started this was to cut her 'fruit' in half we might know. but it might be to small to cut, then will we know, ;);)

    This discussion has come a long way😂 if I get a chance I will cut one in half...
