    Morning😎
I have a little souvenir of my holiday - a streaming cold. Lovely. Rough night but not feeling too bad today. Just as well - still lots of jobs to do.

LB - enjoy your trip to Tebay. Are you going for lunch or a visit to the farm shop? Maybe both. We like it there! We also really like Larch Cottage nursery at Melkinthorpe not far away. Have you been there? It’s mad. Full of romanesque arches and walls / Umbrian style buildings or walls built to look old and a bit decrepit about 40 years ago. The gardens are rather nice and there’s an excellent Italian restaurant and gift shop. The plants are good too, if a little pricey. Red squirrel country.

MU - you’ve been busy with your dolls house. What will your floor coverings be? A bit of lino in some rooms? a bit of parquet with rugs in others? Nice bit of Persian?

Hazel - I really ‘get’ the whole miniaturist thing. For me it’s a combination of collecting, crafting and artistic display combined with historical accuracy and authenticity. I would probably be trying to recreate objects and sets in rooms from contemporary pictures or photographs.

I don’t get adults playing with modern dolls houses with cheap, moulded plastic items of incorrect scale. But accurately scaled, well crafted items - whether bought or made by the owner - turns them into miniature works of art and (for me) the dolls house is essentially a display cabinet.

Pansy - that’s quite a boast about the book - I’m dead impressed! I don’t actually know how old you are but I guessing you weren’t of working age in the 1920’s...🤭😁 Do you know if the book you made was part of a new addition to the doll’s house (ie were they still adding to it all those years later?) or was it some restoration work? The whole house is an amazing work of art.

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

Morning all. A bit dull here but it's dry.

I saw Queen Mary's doll's house fifty years ago. Marvellous work. I think replicas of some of the books can be bought but will probably cost ££££££££s.
Nice to know you made your own contribution to the library Pansy.

Hope your cold doesn't linger T'bird.  I only heard about Larch Cottage fairly recently and have seen some pics of it. Might manage a visit next year.

I presume RuPaul has arrived in the UK?

RuPaul's Drag Race UK: Season 1 premieres October 3rd on BBC3. Probably not most people on here's kind of thing, But I'm counting the days as LB knows!

I'm rooting for the queen who's drag name is Baga Chipz. How can you not?  :D

College was very interesting last night - it's definitely shifted into work mode now - we had a research topic to do then we had to give a five/ten minute presentation to the rest of the group. I hate presentations! But the actual things we're learning about I find absolutely fascinating.

Dolls Houses aren't my thing, but I love all the tiny furniture that goes into them. MU, You definitely need a tiny seasonal tree.

    "Baga Chipz"  great name Chey.
Giving a presentation is a bit daunting at first but you will get used to it.  Sounds as though you are going to enjoy your course.

Drove along the by-pass to another town this morning and the hawthorn trees are dripping with berries.

Hazel, what are you going to do with yourself once the decorating is finished?

My vine weevil killer arrived in the post this morning so will started to watering the pots with it tomorrow.

Re- the dolls house ,and collecting of lovely furniture to fill it .I think some of the little houses with period furniture are quite charming . It’s an absorbing hobby. I would love to have room for one .
I have a collection of old cream /milk jugs that go back as far as seventeen hundred and up to the early nineteen hundreds . I have around sixty jugs .Also I have a large collection of knitted toys ,that I have knitted over the years.I would pass them on to some children ,but OH likes them .They have to stay .
We had a trip to a garden  centre today that I  didn’t know existed until a few weeks ago . It is run by the council parks department .I was very impressed.I can honestly say that I didn’t see one tatty plant . All watered and looked after . The cafe food was very good .  The whole place very impressive. Also a lovely play area with sand pit and digger and lots more .Thoroughly enjoyed my visit .

    Good evening to all.
It's much cooler here and very windy. I stayed at home and didn't go to my cottage. Old lady who helps me sometimes in the garden fell and broke her left arm.
One of my cats thrown pot with Poinsettia from window sill. I managed to save her.

Chey I'm glad that you enjoy at college course.
