Joyce, you are never too old for a Harley! They are superb.
PF - we were allowed to crawl on the floor, have pets who like to lick our faces, plodged through cow pats, didn't worry about being muddy and dirty, never worried about washing fruit and veg. - apart from dusting off the obvious soil and we built up strong immune systems. These have all been eroded now by sanitised everything! I see that the medical people are now advising and encouraging parents to allow their children to get dirty etc.

I thought we had a new Rezzer too. Hope you’re not too hairy Hazel 🤭😁... Speaking of bikes we’ve done just over 20 miles on ours today - round the big lake next to the campsite. You’d think cycling round a lake would be flat - oh no! - quite a few ‘undulations’ en route. Had to swim in the lake to cool off when we finished - it’s still warm but I think the weather may be about to turn😔
We’re now almost over the Austrian border. Just love this part of the world - rolling green fields, green lakes, mountains in the background, fairy tale castles, chalet balconies festooned with petunias and pelargoniums, huge piles of well stacked firewood, cows wearing bells, Julie Andrews running through the fields singing “The Hills are Alive....” Gorgeous!
Hope all went well at your MOT Joyce.
Debs - first day at school? I think the second was worse for me - I knew what was coming. Had a rather strict first teacher who was a tad too fond of slapping her 5 year old charges. She gave me a sharp smack round the ear because I would not hold Tommy Glue’s (yes really) hand for the walk to morning assembly - mainly because he had a really snotty nose which he kept smearing across his face with said hand. She was lucky I didn’t upchuck over her tartan pleated skirt (funny the details that stick in your mind!) at the thought of touching his snot.
Time for a G&T now...
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Idyllic setting for touring T'bird with the bonus of warm weather. There's no way you would be swimming in a lake here. I've just put the heating on. Snotty nosed kids.....yeuch.
Hello T'Bird. Your day sounds wonderful. I remember getting into the fresh water lakes in Austria and they were so refreshing. Had to dodge midges though. One of my nephews who was only very young at the time and is now a strapping rugby player and father of two came back to my sister and I and with his eyes popping out of his head he whispered to my sister 'Mum, there's some ladies over there and they've only got TRUNKS on!' Sis and I wet ourselves laughing. It was so funny. He was and still is a real character.

Chey sends apologies as his two brothers have turned up to see him, one of whom he hasn't seen for 6 years so he is going to be a bit busy (nice busy) for a couple of days.
