    I always thought the young sean bean in sharpe had the required attributes. Most of the gentleman in the original magnificent seven could've managed to look ok in leather trousers but not all. Robert Vaughan would have looked inappropriate.

    Totally agree @B3 ... blokes have bigger thighs nowadays ... they probably go to the gym rather than lounging moodily on street corners scrutinizing passers by through narrowed eyes and with a cigarette between their fingers 😎

    I'd not disagree with you, Hosta, about leather trousers always looking a bit naff. Still, Denzel Washington got away with it, I reckon, in Much Ado. Or I forgive him for not, anyway.
