my spoonerism is playing up again @Fairygirl😉. It's the weather, I think.
We should keep an eye on the cat threads to see where she ends up and offer sympathy to the poor devils counting the cat carriers as they go into the house next door.

The guy across the road from me is definitely one of those @wild edges :D

I think the chap I saw was possibly edging his grass - although it was a tiny space - and maybe he thought 'while I'm here'....

@Fairygirl , it may be that he has difficulty kneeling and finds a strimmer easier to use?

For many people doing everything with non-powered tools is simply not practical.  I have a lawn approximately 30 metres by 9 metres, 100 ft by 30 ft in old money.  There is no way I could mow that with a hand mower as I have 2 dodgy knees and a dodgy hip. I use a petrol cultivator on the veg plot for the same reason.   I use a powered hedge trimmer too, because I can get to everything (at a stretch) without using ladders of any kind.  I couldn't do that with shears.
If those complaining about the use of power tools want to come round and do all my gardening without charging I'm happy to let them do so.  Until then, stop judging others.

I'm not saying don't use them but some people use them to excess. My neighbour has a smaller lawn than me and uses a petrol mower to cut it. It doesn't mean he's a bad person, he probably just had the mower from his previous house and doesn't want to buy a new one. There are some people though who just can't seem to do any simple task without resorting to power tools.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

@Lizzie27- I think it was a case of 'because he was already there edging the grass'.
I never kneel down to deadhead stuff though - maybe I'm the weird one!  :D

Just looked at the weather forecast and it doesn't go below a 90% chance of rain between now and 14.00 tomorrow.
    Devon.

That's a shame Hostafan, just dropped off son and grandson to see the rugby in Bath tonight and it's absolutely p....g down. DIL and granddaughter are arriving tomorrow as well.  Hope you don't get flooded out!
