It's only worth what someone's prepared to pay @Hostafan1 ;)

Ah, but is it foolish to spend ones money on art?
If you like something, and can afford it,it is worth spending your money on it.

  • But it's not particularly good @punkdoc ...but hey, it showed up in a gardening programme. People think the rubbish Vettriano paints is worth their money. As schools stop focusing on teaching art subjects the visual illiteracy of the nation continues to plummet.

@amancalledgeorge- yes, but just because you don't like it, doesn't mean others won't.
    That's how it works.
I personally hate things by Constable.  :)
That's why I don't have any hanging on my walls  ;)

I think that getting onto what is good art and what is not, is a very dangerous route to go down.
If I like a painting, it must be good.  :)

  • @Fairygirl I fell in love with Constable’s art after seeing his collection of cloud paintings. I just love watching clouds!

But that's exactly the point isn't it @pitter-patter? We all like different things, and would spend our money in diffreent ways  :)

I think our taste can change as we get older too - mine certainly has. There's things I like now that I wouldn't want, and lots of things that I would want now that I wouldn''t when I was younger.
Problem is - I need Elton John's income to do that  :D

  • Indeed!  :) A dear friend of mine lives in Edinburgh and I visit him sometimes in the summer. He always says to me that the clouds in Scotland are the best. I’m starting to believe him. I’m definitely taking a lot of photos of clouds when I’m there!
