I'm forcing myself to stay awake as it's too early to go to bed.

I had a very broken night last night Joyce. I was awake at 02:30 and I think it was because it was so hot. It does feel a bit cooler downstairs tonight but upstairs may be warmer.

    No Joyce I didn’t go to A&E - probably should have done😔

I’m a good ‘clotter’ so I sat for over an hour - hand in air while applying pressure to the end of the finger. Eventually stopped bleeding enough to put a dressing on. Constantly seeping & bleeding fairly heavily at the slightest pressure for the next three days. Had to wear a latex glove over the dressings so as to not put blood everywhere - went through several pairs...

You’ll be relieved to hear I did ring the GP’s surgery to check my tetanus was up to date & I did have lots of the right stuff to dress the wound properly.

Some years ago I accidentally trapped my finger in a door and was lucky to find it wasn't broken.  Saying good night and sleep well.  Deb's hope hubby will soon be home.

Great story line MU - should give you lots of scope.

Her parent’s bedroom has probably been left much as it was when they were still alive - so plenty of high-Victorian / Edwardian good quality furniture - but they moved with the times (and you can’t get the staff since the war) so there are plenty of later labour saving touches in the kitchen. If the house is in town might it even have electrickery?

Hope you get to sleep tonight. Hate falling asleep during the day - really upsets my rhythm.

Good morning all. M-U, I got totally lost in your story there. Will you be making a teeny tiny peggy rug for your house then? I love the history that can be relived through this new hobby.
I'm with you T'Bird in not liking sleeping during the day. My rhythm (what a weird word that is!) would be all of a mix up!
Had the fan on all night again last night in the bedroom and it certainly helped me sleep after the toasty, sleep broken night the day before.

Morning PF. You brough back a memory there. I remember those really high cisterns in the toilet with a long pipe down to the pan and the whole house knowing someone had been to the toilet as the sound reverberated through every room.
