Ruby, I hope that you 'sorted' her out. Like your interpretation of your punishment. You were actually correct.

Yes, those days could be very brutal. My friend from Crewe who comes uo for the quiz ezch month, once told me that she got into big trouble because she didn't write on the very top line of every page in her exercise books. That was something I never did either but I didn't get into trouble.
    p.s. Nice one Ruby!

Gosh what memories you've brought back Lants and M-U. Rough books! Yes I had those. I also remember using my ruler to draw in the margin and like you two, my teachers would check every page was filled in before issuing a new one.
I have to confess I didn't know about the selvedge on wallpaper though. Was that because the pattern never printed to the edge?

Jotters and textbooks always covered. For some reason our house had an endless supply of brown paper so you couldn't tell at a glance which subject you were looking for.
When daughter was at school it was the same as Safeways  put the shopping in strong brown paper bags which were then used for book covering and wrapping small parcels.

I have a vague memory of the selvedge down one side of the wallpaper.

If only Safeways realised how very eco friendly they were being Joyce. Well apart from the dead trees used to make the bags

Wow PF I think I would have been impressed too. Were you not tempted to say:
"Bet you can't do that again!"

Ante - extra time! Hope you enjoyed the match. I'm signing out for tonight. See you all some time tomorrow. Earlier I went out to put paper bin out for collection tomorrow. Drive is covered in water. Cres. is covered in water and I got a pre shower shower. It is not looking good for the flower show tomorrow.

    Good morning.
It was such a thrill watching match last night. Extra time and penalties. Also a match for history, first time woman was referee on finale.

I really don't have luck with weather this year. Forecast was wrong again and next week will be one more heat wave. It's quite a shock for all plants and people. I'll go to cottage again.

    Like that cartoon LB.
