@edhelka , that doesn't look at all like the one Monty Don showed in last night's GW. I think you've probably been sent the wrong plant. Monty was extolling its virtues so much I thought I might try one in a pot as I struggle to grow raspberries well here.

I would love to have the real thing too but don't want to buy from T&M again. Also thinking about trying something else in that pot.
  • Nov GW has a raspberry offer 6 canes for £5.80 p&p only.

  • I think they look like a loganberry, especially if they are tart.

Use proper growers and you avoid the problem. You will also have some comeback if there's any problem  :)

The question is, why the good growers/reliable sellers never had new dwarf varieties (or almost any dwarf varieties for that matter).
It's similar with Tower series weigela which I am considering. T&M are the only one having it. Probably an exclusive contract with the breeder.

Growers up here have it @edhelka, but out of stock just now. Someone else was asking about it earlier.
We have some of the best conditions anywhere in the UK, up here for raspberry growing. Perthshire mainly, as it's warmer and drier than the west.  :)

Here you go - link on the 2nd page too. A couple of them grow it  :)

@Fairygirl Thank you, I've just found that thread on my own :) Ruby Beauty is out of stock but there are other dwarf options - Yummy and Sweet Little Sister. Relatively expensive but it's for 3l plants, not 9cm pots like TM. Something to think about.

Yes - as I said to Biglad on there - you have back up if anything goes wrong, because they're recognised growers. That makes a huge difference  :)
