Morning All, I'm happier today re the Hedgehogs after spending a very worrying day over them. I went into my garden last night and saw what I think was the hedgehog family in the garden, it could have been another family I know that. While out there I noticed mum and little two babies so very cute feeding on the food I'd put out for them. I have become very protective of this little family, well so my son tells me. I have been out there making it impossible for the birds to get to them or their food especially the magpies. I have decided to leave that area alone till the end of August then I'll remove the wood and mum should then find a new home hopefully in the hog house I made. Now I know there a family of hogs I'll be putting extra food out for them.

Thank you for all especially AnniD for all you advice and support.

Thanks Dovefromabove, I could have cried with relief when I saw them I was so so happy to see them all out and feeding. We now have at least two more hedgehogs in the world, hopefully they is one male and one female.

I thought I was in for a worrying night but when I saw them all out and foraging I was so happy. Thank you so much for being there for me yesterday, I was really upset when I realised they were there and she might go off and leave them. We are working on the other side of the garden (foundation for gH which goes up next week) so they won't be disturbed. Never see the babies so tiny so so cute I wonder how old they are. Thanks again, I am grateful for you being there for me yesterday.

I think that out there ‘in the wild’ they may well have to cope with a fair bit of disturbance from time to time ... our gardens are probably quite peaceful and idyllic in comparison 😊

Apart from strimmers, lawnmowers, bonfires, chemicals, netting, ponds with no escape route, swimming  pools (ditto) and dogs, but l know what you're saying Dove  :)
Bit more info here about hoglets, including a video of a mum moving her baby, which is quite a sight .
Hopefully not one that you will see NannaBoo,  it sounds like she's quite happy where she is, thankfully.

AnniD, I was dreading that she would have gone off and left them. If she had I was ready with a box and although the nearest hedgehog rescue centre is over in Aylesbury which is a long way from us I would have taken them there. I did read that they do sometimes bring them back to you if you want them and as we have a safe place for them here I would have said yes. I don't have a cat or dog as they affect my breathing not sure what it is about the as I love them and would like a little dog. I suppose that's why I love to see wildlife, well apart from rats and mice. I have set my camera into night mode and if I see them and can take a picture without disturbing them I'll post it on here. Thanks again ladies.
