Godzilla Plant - Help

Hi,
Can anyone tell me if they know what this plant is ?
I believed I had planted a foxglove last summer. It grew into a round shape with loads of leaves but didn't do anything else. This year it just keeps growing and growing ! People are now stopping and staring as they walk past. So any help would be much appreciated.

It certainly looks like a very large, slightly eccentric foxglove ... it’ll be amazing when it flowers ... looking forward to more photographs! 😊

Did you buy any magic beans recently?
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Oh My Gosh!!! Thats HUGE! lol. Do verbascum not have greyish leaves though? It'll be amazing to see what the flowers are like :)
Reminds me a little bit of that massive flower that a couple grew in great Yarmouth... think that was echium? wrong leaves though ... possibly lol
  • I will post another picture in a couple of weeks. The stems width must be about 2 inches so far, so I don't think the wind will blow it over anytime soon.
I cut some of the leaves this winter as it hadn't stopped growing from summer, however I now wonder if it has mutated in some way. I have grown tall foxgloves before approx.6 feet, but the leaves have always been a small collection at the bottom. So if this has yet to 'flower' it could grow another 3 feet lol !!!!

Good photo here https://www.alamy.com/stock-photo-verbascum-bombyciferum-giant-silver-mullein-in-full-flower-85927991.html which shows it in full flower. That should wow the neighbours!
  • Gosh Steephill you might be right ! Wow it's leaves are a lot higher on mine so might have a bit to go yet. Ha ! Well that's something to look forward to 😂

Ksutherland88  you will need to save the seeds as it's a beauty plant. I'm trying to find out if there is a smaller one about 2 ft tall as I have a cluster in the corner of the garden, I'm going by the leaves.
