Get a few stuffed monkeys and a  tape of squawking parakeets. Put the tape on when you go out. That'll learn her!

I think your terrace is gorgeous!  So much life and colour, you should be really proud of it.

Thanks everyone. Told hubby about what was said and his reaction was a bit unexpected. Normally he tells me not to rise to the jabs, this time he just said “go ahead plant the really tall sunflowers next to the fence”  :open_mouth:

It looks gorgeous Jac, you said the neighbours are into "bear concrete", does that mean they have wild animals on their balcony haha!!!  Its a good space, keeps you healthy good for polution and the environment.  Both my sons have various mental health problems, one did have a balcony, but it was a bedsit, he moved to a 1 bed flat, but neither have any kind of outside space, he used to grow tomatoes, herbs.  I dont think flat no matter how small the space should have anything less than the tiniest balcony to get outside, get the daylight set the body clock.  I had a similar thing with both my Mother and Brother in law, we had quarter acre garden, with a stream running through the bottom, and bridge into fields beyond, (with cows) BIL, said, its not a garden its a field, MIL, would say there was a dead head or a weed, would I like her to pick it, never any kind of compliment, always something nasty, and yes, he had a concrete "garden" full of dog ****

It looks lovely to me, l'd rather look at colourful flowers any day than concrete ! I agree,  l think it is a touch of the "green eyed monster".  Get the recording of the parakeets and tell her it was her remarks about the jungle that gave you the idea. Maybe a couple of rubber snakes ?   >:)
