Hidcote does ok in shade here... morning sun for a few hours only. Languished for the first two years, but a few I forgot to hoik out now seems to have got over themselves. L x Intermedia (dutch lavender) has long but upright spikes, the only one I can seem to grow in full sun.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
I have two types, I am not 100% sure about the IDs, but one of them is lavandin (lavandula x intermedia) and the other one is a much darker english one (hidcote?). The L x I type grows better and looks better. It has very long spikes but they don't fall over. The downside is that it can get very big - if it is cut to a 30cm bush in late winter, it gets to 50cm with the new growth and over one meter with flowers (mine are bigger than this).
Both height and width although they tend to be wider than high, so maybe less in height.
This is my biggest one (last year photo, it's not yet flowering this year, but will be soon, probably next week, the english one is already flowering). I think I will need to replace it in a year or two. The smaller ones in the background are those english ones (they were young plants last year). I pruned them only lightly so they are bigger this year. The big one, I prune as much as I can.
I'd definitely recommend French lavender Anouk but it is more of a warm purple colour. It flowers very early and it remains compact, out of the twenty I planted last year not a single one failed.
@Rubytoo: I have grown Little Lady in full sun, half shade and sheltered and exposed positions, and have never been disappointed. I have lots of plants now, having taking cuttings which are forming an informal, low hedge in the front garden. I bought several small potted plants at a Bristol market a couple of years ago, and have been more than pleased with the results. Hope this helps.

I'd better make absolutely sure before I replant😊

Which get fulfilled in time.
