Could anyone help me?
My angel wings plant keeps getting holes in the leaves. I first thought this was slugs but there is no slug trail. Thank you

Hallo @janyb, and welcome to the forum.

You say your plants "keeps" getting holes in the leaves, but I can only see one damaged leaf, and it's one of the biggest and, therefore, probably oldest leaves.  Leaves are not immortal, new ones grow and old ones, like us, lose their looks and die.

Is that leaf pitted, or do the holes go right through?  It could be insect damage, such as by a caterpillar or aphids.  Look under the leaves and if anything is munching them, just pick or wipe them off.  You can cut off the damaged leaf if you don't like the look of it.

Congratulations on rearing what looks like a strong, healthy plant.  It's unlikely to suffer any real harm from such slight damage.

    Why is the soil green?

It looks like lots and lots of slug pellets

That's a crazy amount of slug pellets - the compost must be really toxic

Slug pellets are toxic on many levels and will not help with an indoor plant, especially one like this which prefers a weel-drained compost which is not good for slugs.

I think you should scrape them off and dispose of them safely and then make sure you have the correct compost mx and don't over- water your succulent.  Remove the damaged leaf at the base.

@janyb That looks like damage caused by moth caterpillars, which sometimes happens with indoor plants.  You may need to check for them at night as some are nocturnal and will hide during daylight.  Just pick them off when you find one.

I bought my first Angel's Wings in autumn and hadn't the heart to put it outside. It gre so large that I cut the top off it and planted it in a pot  where it still grew like mad. The bottom of the plant soon grew side shoots which covered the cut stem. I put some broken leaves in a vase as it was a shame to waste them. They grew lots of roots so I spotted them up. All the plants I didn't give away have lived outside. They haven't been spoilt by the weather and are a real feature.  I would get rid of the very top layer of soil if it is thick in slug pellets and put it outside. You could either top up with new soil or repot it. They look spectacular when they get really large.
