    Manure would help the height.

My Amistad are new this year, but I fully expect them to get bigger than Stated Height, as my S. Guarantica Black and Blue, a similar newish plant, are heading that way. All salvia family get big for me in improved clay plus warm weather, so soil and climate do have a noticeable effect and Monty has said in the past some things grow rampantly in his garden. They are getting taller and wider every year here. Agastache Black Adder is 150cm (SH 90cm) Salvia Caradonna is now 100cm (SH 50cm). Oh and Tithonia plants doubled their already tall SH and swamped everything!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
