Please help identify this plant

Hello Gardeners, we were gifted this plant about three years ago planted in a pot. It has now grown to about 5 ft with basically just a single tall stem and a few thick leaves at the bottom. We have no idea what it is or how to care for it. Can you help? Thanks!

    Can we see a photo of the leaves at the bottom, also a close up of the pink bits sticking out, they look like flower buds. ?

    I've never seen anything quite like that ; does it normally reside indoors ? I assume you placed it outdoors for the photographs .Where is it normally kept ?
    From what I can make out of the flowers developing , it looks to me like an exceptionally etiolated Epiphyllum ; these are a genus of cacti normally growing in moist woodlands in Mexico , the Caribbean Islands and northern S.America .
    Yours appears to have literally 'stretched' towards a light-source , hence the highly unusual tall and weak (etiolated) growth .
    Normally they are small leafy 'shrublets' , often attatched (not parasitically) to trees .

    I assume the leaves reflected in the lower pane of glass belong to this plant ........

    Sorry! I thought I had posted this already.  The last photo shows the leaves. It has always been placed in the patio with plenty of light, although the climate may not be suitable since I’m in North Cal. The person who gave it to us did mentioned the name once to my grandma, but she forgot 😅

    Is the Aloe in the same pot as the Epiphyllum ?
    That is not the flowering stem of an Aloe ; quite confusing really .
