@AnniD, @purplerallim, I need to know how you get a husband to cut grass.

@josusa47, you need to find one who has the "geek" gene. I find that they are the most suitable (mind you, l would point out that l have had the same model of OH for nearly 40 years. You may find it more difficult with a younger model 😁)

It's easy @josusa47. Just break a lawn mower and burn out a couple of strimmers. Then when he makes a comment about the cost of renewal say that's it I won't be doing it again it's all yours.😈😈😈

Ha ha purpleallim 😂😂😂  I like your style 👍.
  • The only way I'd succeed would be by buying a new lawn mower every week. He loves a new toy!

I live on my own and garden alone. Hardly anyone sees my back garden (unless they are up the church tower!). Quite nice when out doing my little bit at the front that people stop and comment on how nice it is. In fact one lady said she had given me lots of ideas about garden 'style' just looking at my front gardens over the years. I have invited a few interested passersby round to see the back garden and they have been thrilled. That was lovely! It would be nice to have an under gardener who swept paths, put bins out etc...……….

    Very interesting folks.
We have a fairly traditional division of labour here, meaning I do all the gardening and OH does anything which involves a power tool. It is handy to have a grafter/helper but planting decisions and upkeep is my bit. I enjoy the quietness and solitude of gardening really - it is my hobby and my escape.

I do everything on my own, but my circumstances may be sightly different as I don't have an OH.
I prefer it that way for gardening, and my main hobby too  ;)

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Hubby has kittens when he finds out I have used power tools, hes sure I'm going to injure myself every time.🙄 But I must admit he has a point I'm a bit bull in China shop.

I also prefer gardening alone and in silence. OH does the lawn mowing/hedge cutting and moving heavy things for me (except on projects he didn't want me to do in the first place!). I chat occasionally to some neighbours.
