    Absolutely fine ... I’ve done it all my life and I’m still here. Wish there were more folk around like you @daniel123 willing to accept that Nature is rarely, and shouldn’t be expected to be, perfect 👍

    I do the same as Dove. Just slice off the manky bit.
    We have masses of slugs and snails, and strawbs are a bit of a magnet for them. I often pick them a bit early and ripen indoors, which can beat the little b***ers to it  :D
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....



    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
