  • @Purplerain,..Lol,..i ''Like'' that comment,..that video was made by a friend living in Australia while she was visiting New Zealand,..it would draw a person to growing Lupins
  • That is a lovely video, making me even more desperate to get these Lupins flowering. I may try repotting them, with more grit mixed into the peat, would you add garden compost or just propriety potting compost?
  • @Guernsey Donkey2,..i have to admit my Lupins always get some liquid Fertilizer when i am feeding plants next to them,.. the belief is that Lupins thrive in poor to average soil and in particular not soil that was composted,..so a little is fine,..given more Fertilizer will grow great foliage but less blooms,..same applies with Hydrangeas,..big leaf small bloom,..so again less Fertilizer.

I dug up some of my Lupins this season and the roots were like a Parsnip,..a long taproot and so the reason they don't take kindly to being moved,..if you end up with at least one good strong Lupin,..you can cut off the shoots that grow along the spire,..dipped in Rooting Gel or Powder and pot them,..if you do this in Spring ( as i did )
its the quickest way to increase your Lupin numbers,..if i recall i got 10 doing this.

Ah yes that video would make any gardener mad to start Lupins :)
