    @Peter553, what a difference the clean up has made!  Well done.   I have one of those wooden troughs 2-3 ft long with an integral trellis, painted black. They last about ten years so good value for money. They would look good against your walls with small climbers or annuals up the trellis and give a bit of height. Spring bulbs would also look lovely.

    Thanks for info on trough. Will consider what is best option trough/trellis or pots and take from there.
