It looks great! How would you feel about a barrel pond? The area outside my patio doors is much smaller than yours, but I have recently made one. After a few teething troubles it is doing well (fingers crossed). I have also just planted a boulevard clematis in a container which is very pretty.

A barrel pond would work but it is an area where we have a lot of coming and going ....but certainly an excellent suggestion and worth considering. Will give it some thought. Thanks

Are you looking for permanent planting or just seasonal?

Probably looking to do both had considered making fixed troughs (wooden planters) along walls but not sure if that would work better than pots. Might be cheaper but not necessarily have better appearance.

Hi @HouseFinch, I will try later after work. I need to ask teenage son to help, I'm not too good with uploading photos!

Hi @Peter553 and @HouseFinch , here is the barrel pond, and the picture below is boulevard clematis 'Nubia'. The other pots are just pelagoniums.

@bullfinch Very nice! love the pond.
Have to admit at the start of the season, I wasn't a bit tempted to get any clematis plants for our garden, but the more I see on here...some might get into the cart next year... There are some beautiful clematis varieties, and yours is one of them. Going to have to do some reading up on them I think.
