    I'll definitely take a look at those thanks. I had to cut the one in the border back to a few inches above the soil and then fleece over the winter and it's worked a treat.  The year before last I lost a beautiful big one to frost. I wasn't happy but learnt quickly.

    I dont fleece but I pile a big dollop of home made compost on the top.

    I did think it looked a bit prickly . A clustered white rose with a strong scent would be worth finding😊

    I’ve got a white cluster rose in the garden, a David Austin, can’t say I’ve notice the smell but then I never can smell roses.

    I am yet to grow any rose of any kind so it would be worth a try even if means getting prickled 😂  any suggestions for a beginner.
