Last year's sowings of PSB have finally started to produce proper flower heads @biofreak.   Can't remember what variety they were but I'e never hadto wai so long.  Those and cavolo nero are all we're harvesting at the mo altho the lemons in the polytunnel are almost ready.

I sense Gin & Tonics on the way!!
Miserable couple of days as predicted. Even the dogs don't want to go outside. Enforced walk on the beach this morning...I was not popular!!
Managed to do a bit more weeding in the Flower beds on Tuesday, at least I can see the Irisés and Alliums now!! All shrubs beginning to bud up nicely, and I swear the Dawn Chorus has started up (unless it is my lager lout sparrows calling for breakfast ...they really are piggy little birds! ) Tulips beginning to sprout in pots around Post Box. Very sheltered so perhaps that's why they are earlier than usual.
Just had Circular from La Maison Obelixx. If you have a Fidélité Card, they are giving away 5 Seed potatoes (New Variety Acoustic) up until 2nd March. Don"t know if Maison  (Originally Point Vert)is in your area.
    Happy Gardening.

@biofreak There is a Point Vert at Luçon that used to be something else but I haven't noticed if it's changed.   I last went in there in September looking for spring bulbs - none arrived yet - and purin de prêle - out of stock for months.

In fact 3 or my usual GCs in La Roche and Les Sables have changed names and I can't keep up.  I shall be better pleased if and when they put their fidelity cards online so I can stop carrying the extra wee wallet of these cards.

It's raining here but should be dry tomorrow so OH can get on and rotavate the pah in th eveggie plot where he's lifted the ghastly weed membrane.   Then, as soon as it's warm enough, I can sow some grass which was always my plan A.

Loyalty @GWRS.   Too wet here today to check for buds but the winter honeysuckle was in full bloom this weekend and smells wonderful.

Some of these cards are now online as Apps but can't be doing with juggling around getting Phone out to find them and turning them on at Check out.Crazy life this tech business. Some Seed Companies are now online only...I prefer paper every time, plus I can make use of it afterwards to line seed trays. Make mini pots or just re-read for pleasure! Off to get Seed Potatoes and Onion Sets Monday. Nice to do something positive despite the weather. ❓️ Question:  When and do you unravel foliage from Honeysuckle and wrap it round existng hedgerow. Or do you just let it sprout about from Canes to which it is tied already by Garden Centre.

@biofreak When planting anything from the GC I remove all canes and ties as soon as it's planted and then tie to, or wind round, new supports as needed.

I have Leclerc and LIDL on my phone.  It's easy enough to get in the habit of turning on the phone ready for checking out.  I have another 2 dozen fidelity cards, seldom used but useful and carry those in a wee cards wallet.  It can be a faff leafing thru to find the one I need.

    Hi Everyone..
Raining today but lovely and mild..
Thrilled I managed to get most of lawn mown on Friday ..at long last long grass dry enough. Left dogs 'Racetrack' that they have made around Bog Garden, it will soon be covered by Chinese Rhubarb and Gunnera which are already sprouting so might as well not bother to rectify new mud track!!
Interesting note about Round as opposed to Wrinkled Peas in Gardening Mag last week. Wrinkled ones will put up with heat better, so appreciate April/May sowing whereas Round ones do better sown early in late Feb/March  as they will put up with a cold snap and a wet Spring.
19th/20th February are Flower Days so prick out Cauliflowers sown 14-16th January.  Take cuttings of Chrysanthemums./Fuschias and Pélargoniums.
21/22nd February finds the Moon descending in front of Cancer so Leaf Days. If no frost continue planting hedges,  and trim Borders and Topiary.
23/24/25th February Fruit Days. If you haven"t already , prune Bush Fruit and transplant Raspberry Canes. Earth up Broad Beans and Peas sown 18/19th January.  On 25th no gardening recommended after 9.50am as Moon apogée (Furthest point in monthly cycle from Earth)
27/27/28/29th February...Gosh that's à long stretch of Root Days although no gardening recommended after 5.45pm on 27th as Moon Noeud descending . On soil not recently manured plant Garlic & Shallots. Pop in Early Potatoes and plant Horseradish and Jérusalem Artichokes.
Well that gets us to the end of anothet Month.
Which Potatoes are you planting this year? I thought I might try Princess Amandine or Mona Lisa. Trouble is so much choice!!
    Happy Gardening !
