    Hi Everyone,
Just sat down with a coffee to read last week's Sunday Times (We get our's on a Monday or Tuesday in France from Belgium) and see in Culture International Page 14th (Issue 9th June 2019) within article about the Large Hadron Collider that 'The tunnel is so long that it flexes with the phases of the Moon. This could be a problem for Paul Collier's beams."The Moon deforms the tunnel" explains Glyn Kirby, the Cern engineer in charge of magnets'
Seems it's not just the sea and nature effected.

Garden soaked this morning but much fresher. Delighted with quantity of rain as soon off to scatter Mother's ashes in Scotland and trip to Ireland to search out new goodies for my Deli.Worried about hot weather that is threatening to arrive. Have mulched all pots and beds in hopes of containing damp.

Must stop Archers Omnibus about to start!

Look out for Moon Calender 18th June.

    Happy Gardening.

    Hi Everyone

Cats Big Game Hunting ths morning -Pigeons!!! I am delighted that they are scaring them off my brassicas (Broccoli and Kohlrabi both under attack 5am this morning) Just to take us into the w/e no gardening recommended yesterday (19th)as Noeud descending. I was delighted as poured down all day. Peppers need potting on though before we go away next week and we have just started to eat first peas/mangetouts and courgettes are starting to sprout baby fruits.
20/21 June - Moon ascending in Capricorn so Root Days. Sow chicory and carrots for winter crops.
22/23/24th June - Moon ascending in Aquarius so Flower Days. No gardening on 23rd before 1.55pm as Moon apogée. Gather Lime and Camomile Flowers to make your soothing teas. Sow Bi-annuals and Perennials.
Will cover up to end of Month and give Weather Report for July this w/e.
    Happy Gardening.

Hello , dug up some new potatoes 🥔 , excellent
First bowl of summer raspberries but all the rain has sent some rotten , same with strawberries 🍓
Going to plot this afternoon with various items from g/h for planting

Sweden was great , we Sailed from Edinburghs Port  Rosyth  , we went there a couple of days early and visited The Kelpies and Falkirk Wheel and walked over the all Forth Road Bridge which is being repaired
Went to Malmo , lovely old building and park , Next was Visby  but couldn’t dock due winds , so had extra time in Stockholm , have been before ,  great place , first time to the ABBA museum , this time to The Vassa Museum
Next Gothenburg , fab Botanical Gardens and Glass house , town it’s self very modern , not our favourite place

Hope you see your Golden Eagle 🦅  (have seen sea eagles but can’t remember where , not in this country thou ) , hope all goes well , are you flying to Scotland ?

    Hi Everyone and GWRS

Your Swedish trip sounds fantastic. Will have to add it to Wishlist. Love looking round foreign Gardens, get lots of ideas. Strawberries should last till we get back and raspberries are nowhere near ready. We are driving up to Scotland and then across to Ireland, back via UK to Poole -Cherbourg as cheapest route. Irish Ferries ridiculous prices plus other lines full anyway.

So what is the weather prediction for July. -Well definately hot, caused mainly by warm winds from the continents. From 2-4th look out for storms and 13-18th especially stormy with thundery periods and lots of cloud cover. 19-27th Period anticyclonique (never know quite what that means!) with beautiful days. 28-31st Much more seasonal, warm with a tendency for showery days. Look out for Partial Eclipse of the Moon on 16th July.

Just to keep you all ticking util I come back 11th July here is the Lunar Calender until the 13th
25/26/27th June - Moon ascending in Pisces so Leaf Days. If the weather holds dry in the middle of the day cut herbs for drying and in particular Nettles Comfrey and Marestails for Purins. Sow more salad crops in shady areas or certainly out of direct sunlight during 11-3pm.
28-29th June - Fruit Day Sow some more Cucumbers and Courgettes outside.
30th June & 1st July - Moon ascending in Taurus so Root Day. Sow Winter Radish and pop in some more Carrots for a 'baby carrot Autumn crop.
2/3rd July - New Moon on 2nd no gardening after 3pm as Eclipse of the Sun  Layer Wistaria as Flower Days. Plant out Broccoli sown 26-27th May. No gardening on 3rd July before 11.05am as Moon Perigée.
4/5/6/7th July - Moon Descending in Leo so Fruit & Seed Days. Prune apples and pears and give tomatoes another pruning.
8/9/10th July - Moon descending in Virgo Root Days again. Harvest Early Potatoes remembering to dig them only as you wish to eat as the goodness (and taste)goes out in a matter of hours and you migt as well have just gone down the shops!. Lift Garlic Onions and Shallots if leaves fully yellowed. Thin Carrots sown 2-4th June and Winter Radish sown 29-30th June. Plant out Leeks sown 24-25th May remembering to top and tail them before re-planting to encourage strong early growth..
11/12th July - Flower Days. Plant out Cauliflowers sown 26-27th May keep well watered.

So there we are -Have a great Gardening time and let's catch up on how things have gone when I get back. Chat amongst yourselves on this Thread -All ideas and comments welcome.

    Happy Gardening!
