It is a Montana Valleys girl and it looks like the one called 'Marjorie'.

Oh cripes, I have now found a picture of the clematis taken last year (top one), with obviously a different light on it - so now the flower appears more purple in colour.  Does that help with naming it from the names I have previously. Thank you so much for all your input, your knowledge of clematis (and all things gardening never ceases to amaze me).

@Valleys girl You are very welcome.
@Guernsey Donkey2 Very puzzled by your lovely Clematis but I do hope that you find out which one it is.

    Don't worry GuernseyDonkey2
Afraid Countess de Bouchard is a much paler pink.

The new photos, it is pretty whatever it is :D
Also your second one shows the centre detail very well with the stamens dark tip colour.

Just an aside, I don't know if it will make you feel better.
(I have one that starts off nearly dark purple in bud and small on opening, then goes a mid violet with a reddish hued stripe. Then  the flower gets bigger and the stripe vanishes and the whole thing is pale like a Parma violet sweet. You would not think it the same plant). I narrowed it down but still not sure.
It drives me mad as I never had a label to start with :D

@Obelixx , I stuffed Westerplatte in a split compost bag and stuck it under a yew temporarily, forgotten about it flowered beautifully....

Edit again...Could you have been sent the wrong plant in the first place@GuernseyDonkey2?

We have had two wrong ones sent in the past....

You are right Rubytoo, the colour of the flower does appear to change with age, starting fresh and bright, then fading and looking quite jaded. Today I went hunting, and surprised that the names haven't faded from my make shift yoghurt pot labels I found Viticella Violette purple flower and Ernest Markham, large pink flower.  Now I wouldn't call any of the flowers pink in the pictures I have shown here.  Can anyone give me the correct name please?.
