I think you've just proved that you are. That's completely uncalled for to speak to another forum member that way.
So it's OK that forum member presumed I was condescending or rude to the person I spoke about the plants. I was very polite in the questions I asked but he/she presumed otherwise which is wrong
You referred to the staff member in your original post as "a woman", not the manager / supervisor of the garden section. You may well have not been rude to her, but there was no way Impatient Gardener could have known she was the manager from your post. There is no need to refer to Impatient Gardener in that way.
Don’t even bother to distress yourself over waste, we live in a throw away society, if amazon didn’t take the tele’s to the tip other people would, some people need to change everything in their houses ever two years, out it all goes, and buy new. Same with plants, it’s the instant gratification world these days, no point in distressing yourself over the plants. Or waste for that matter.
