    Prince William looks good but I've never seen it in the flesh so have no idea how vigorous it would be.     I have grown this one and its dusky colour and small flowers may suit your needs - http://www.clematis.hull.ac.uk/new-clemdetail.cfm?dbkey=580

  • Etoile Violette, in my opinion, would be too strong of a colour for the Generous Gardener rose.  The deep purple with yellow stamens of EV is better with a yellow rose. For your GG rose have a look at Dominika or Emilia Plater , both pictures from our garden here
    I've just spotted your Bolam Belle, Richard and I'd love to know more about it, such as height, size of flower etc. If you could possibly direct message me, that would be great, as I couldn't find an email to contact you on.
