Hostafan1, where do you live is it somewhere abroad? no you said you can see Lyn's getting rain so you must be in or near Devon. I've just checked the weather forecast and it's sunshine and showers here tomorrow then no rain till the 18th.

Had 2 inches in 2 days judging by several buckets left around the garden.  All in short but massive deluges and highly localised, so much of it totally wasted in run-off.  At least all of the previously empty water butts are brimming full again. :)

I put a hose directly from my water butt to the base of newly planted trees and roses. My newly planted crabs have had a great watering this week.

The rain was that heavy yesterday when I looked up the road it was like fog. In a few weeks time when we have hot weather we'll be praying for rain never happy are we. :D

Hostafan and I are about 10 miles apart as the crow flys. More by road, it’s because we are in the edge of the Moor and high up, 960 ft .   If Hosta can’t see Brentor church he knows we are in a rain storm😀

Dee73, you live near me so I apologise to you because this rain is all my fault.

I'd booked the week off work to do some outside jobs and I had the car washed and windows cleaned last weekend. Rain, therefore, was inevitable.

The good news (for you) is that I am back at work on Monday, so expect a week of gorgeous sunshine.

Please be advised that I am next on leave during the first week of June, so expect more rain then :)

Andrew  :) I’m hoping to give you plenty of notice so you can arrange to be at work mid-September as we’ll be visiting @Hostafan1 and then moving on to Cornwall for our holiday.  💖 😉

AndyR, forecast looks good for next week. People round here say Dee's washing her windows take your washing in. The soil is far to sticky to get on to and do anything.
I'll make hay while the sun shines next week if you of work again in early June. Fingers crossed for you that we get some sun.

Showers forecast last night didn't materialise either.
