Quick question,  can someone remind me - did Nick what's his name say that the Prince Charles clematis was ideal for a North facing site, or did l make that up ?

@AnniD yes Prince Charles will thrive in hot sunshine and also do well on a North facing wall. It's a beauty and I want one. It will grow three metres in a season too.

  • Shame about the name...but nice clematis otherwise  :o

I once bought a Princess Kate Clematis and told the nursery owner " I'm buying it despite the name, not because of it. "

I added " so long as she's as pretty as her mother in law" . He got what I meant.

  • For the anoraks on here, there is also a White Prince Charles, and a red form, raised by Mike Brown from seed of Prince Charles, called Charlie Brown.
