That beautiful garden is not so very far away from me. Although l'd heard of it, l have never visited. What a missed opportunity !
Hopefully it will still be looking good at the end of September, as l suspect that there will be a marked increase of visitors in the near future. Thought l might leave it for a bit until the fuss dies down....

Off on holiday according to Adam  :)
Nice to see Rachel again, those pots were lovely.
I wish l had soil like Adam, the planting of the eupatorium and rudbeckia was so easy !
  • Adam did a great job. Very relaxed feel to the show this week :) Well done Gardeners' World!

It was good.  Adam is a relaxing sort of presenter and explains well.   As for his soil, I remember earlier visits to his garden showing all the soil prep he did before he started planting.   I think many of us are too impatient or underestimate just how important it it is to prepare soil before planting up whole new beds.  For established beds it's mulch, mulch, mulch.

I liked Rachel's pots display but, given the number and all the watering needed, have to wonder if it would be easier just to make a bed there.

I agree @Obelixx, it was a fine example of soil preparation paying off.
There were a couple of times last night when Adam reminded me of Geoff Hamilton. His comment of "fun, eh ? " to camera as he clambered out of the viburnum was one.

Well, he did train and work with him in a former incarnation of GW.
