Green Animal poop on patio overnight

Just really started getting borders etc ready due to weather but past few mornings have had 15-20 small poo pellets on patio at edge of lawn.I clear them up but they reappear same place each morning spread in a 15-20” area. They are no bigger than 5mm,flat at each end and green in colour,no discernible smell to them.I have checked behind shed etc but there is no other evidence of anything other than this morning something has been digging around the roots of freshly planted bedding plants.

They look like Rat to me  1.7–2cm large and oval-shaped, like olive stones.
When fresh, rat droppings are dark in colour, rough in texture, and tapering to a point at one or both ends. They’re often deposited in a scattered group.Rat droppings Mike Langman

  • Looked at rat but ends aren’t tapered and the colour, size etc seems wrong

Hedgehog poo is  usually black so if green hue dont think it's that. Not right shape for rat or mice.🤔

Maybe invest in a bag of hedgehog food ( only costs £3/£5 ) put some in a shallow dish and see if it gets eaten. First thing in morning look to see, if crumbs are there its hedgehog,  other animals tend to take it away to eat. Might just give the plants a rest.🙂

I'm fairly certain that's not hog poo.
  • Not carnivore as when broken up just looks like grass, not big enough for rat only 3-5mm and blunt at both ends.Looks too small for mouse but similar to water vole although we are nowhere near water.Clear up in a morning,re deposited overnight in same place.
    Its a mystery,could it be a small rabbit .
All we usually get in the garden are field mice, foxes, hedgehogs, rabbits, had the occasional stoat, then birds.Never had rats

Not round enough for rabbit unless possible a kitten (baby rabbit) you need to get a camera trap or stay up all night  :)

Rabbits eat their poo, that looks like the first time around, they poo, eat it then the pop looks like the round dry pellets but first time it looks like that on the photo.

Got to say @debs64 I have never studied rabbits that close 🥕🐇🥕🐇 or their pooing habits but your obviously and expert 😄😄

  • Sweeping it up is easier than sitting up with a camera lol.
The baby rabbits mustn’t have been very hungry😃
