No they are not those I just looked at some pictures
they used to be bright green so healthy looking.
will have a look at past posts. Could they get worse?
would mulching help? Have never fed or watered them apart from the first year.
we can’t afford to buy anything else now, some of them have pink buds does that mean they could be growing?
tjank you yes rest of garden looks ok, we have confires on the other side and look the same:(
    thank you

The fact they have buds could be a good sign, fingers crossed!

Oh  boo i thought i had got in first for once :D
    Sorry for laughing ne59jr59.

I think there is enough there to sprout and cover the bare bits, just try to keep on top of the trimming and not cut hard back. Unless you find they are a type that can be, like Thuja.

    PS. Nice garden :)

Oh I really hope so, it’s raining now but when it stops I will post a pic of the buds as only on a few trees so that might mean some of the trees ok but others dying? So would have to take the ones out without buds out?
when I look inside the trees they are all brown inside even ones with buds so I don’t know.
    thank you .

Sorry I may have misunderstood, I thought they were a grey blue type of conifer.

Are you saying they used to be bright green , so the grey colour is them dying.

Yes even ones with buds on will have dead looking wood inside, many big bushy trees and shrubs will too,  The branches are not dead if they have buds on, just lack of light means they can't sprout.

But if they are the right kind they can grow back as AnniD said it may take a while.

I would keep them as is for now and see what happens.

Most conifers look brown on the inside so don't worry. I don't think they look too bad. I would give them a feed in the warmer weather and just sit back and relax. No stressing about whether they need to come out or not and the subsequent cost! Give them to the end of the year before you make any decision. I'm sure they will green up a bit and put on new growth.

I know but I am wish I wasn’t but did you see the second picture? What type of feed? And the start of summer? So wait till September? I just hope they will do cross fingers and toes.
    thank you.
