You don't have to be and they don't stay babies for long.

Drizzling here.  Fine by me as I'm building shelves - just as soon as I find the DIY metal tape measure I carefully left there with all the other doings yesterday.   Why would OH have moved it?   Not sure a floppy dressmakers' tape measure will do.  Gppd job I hid the spirit level then!

TBH, I'm not great with kids. I adored my own when they were kids, but not that keen on many others.

I’m hoping my step daughter will stick with just the one.

I felt the same Hosta - till I had Possum and she was fascinating even in the fat blobby phase before they can sit up on their own.   You will adore your grandchildren for the same reason you love your daughters - and you can hand them back.

Evening all, congratulations BusyL! DIL must be exhausted and you sound it too, I agree with previous advice, gardens can wait, get some well earned rest!
LG, your needs and paths look fantastic! Pain staking gravel washing, most commendable, I would have done the same but I didn't have any but papa womble had bought pebbles for my early birthday gift, it's for my grass bed and path to greenhouse.
Obelixx, sounds like you have a busy time ahead! Best of luck getting everything done!
Hosta, no kids here!😀 what grasses have you put in your new bed then?
Off to stuff my face with moussaka garlic bread and green salad, then collapse! Night all😊

Evening - hope all are ok. Lovely news @Busy-Lizzie. That’s quite a few Birthday cards to remember now!
We had new rubbish bins delivered today...they are tiny!!!  The old ones were only down-sized a few years ago! Glad there are only two of us. I try hard to recycle everything I can but some stuff is just not recyclable. I think people with pets (ignore this bit Hosta!) should have the bigger bins as I fill a plastic bag with litter each week probably. We have a few classic Victor Meldrews and Hyacinth Buckets in our street (not us of course!) so there will be letters (actual letters, not emails).

AR - when we use cat litter it's the kind that can go on the compost heap.   Teeny wheelie bin for non recyclable rubbish here too.  Double size for the recyclables and then we have our own containers for bottles, cardboard and paper that we take to the recycling centre as it's not collected.

We can probably just about manage with the small bin but with all the rules, different boxes and volume of recycling, it’s like a production line here -  they should be paying me!
