I know paul it's a disaster ! it was much cheaper to get the work done to the trees if all the cuttings were left on site by the tree surgeon.
    the trees are lime trees
    thanks

Do you own or know someone with a log-burner ? They'd probably be all too pleased to clear up the mess .
I hope the tree-surgeon explained about how Limes send out multitudinous branches once they've been pruned .

Lime is poor quality for firewood. What are you going to do with it all?
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Lime is valued by woodturners for making bowls ... maybe see if there are any in your area ... maybe swap a decent sized log or two in exchange for a lovely bowl ... a memento of your trees ... just an idea but it’s what I would do  😊

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
