B3 they are along the south side of the garden and they did block all the sunlight before they were cut just recently
Thanks

Well it won't be shady for a few years. I'm not a grass expert, but I would assume that shade tolerant grass would grow in sunlight and then it would be ready for when the trees leaf up again.

Yeah i wondered that myself- would shade grass grow well in sunlight. If so I'd rather sow that sort and be on the safe side
Thanks

I'd use a grass seed mix. A general purpose plus a packet of shady mix. Should cove everything. What are those trees?

Was just going to say what nutcutlet said, use a mix of seed.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Smiled when I saw the first pictures !.......thought I was on the wrong website and viewing a battlefield
.
I'm hazarding a guess at Sycamore trees ; I can't zoom in with any degree of clarity , but if so they should soon green up again .
Maybe the height should have been reduced further ??
Perhaps classify as a semi-shaded garden .
