I hope they're not going to ask me not to be out in the garden that day. I have jobs to get done.
Power tool jobs? Jetwasher, angle grinder, electric drill. 😈
Definitely worth much more than £20. 😃

They're also filming inside my next door neighbours' house (the hot tub people) so I hope they're not going to ask me not to be out in the garden that day. I have jobs to get done.
    Oh ...that's an opportunity and a half .... :D:smile:
    Do you have a mankini?

    Yep.  Opportunity.

You need to get out there in some loud clothes and be noisy and visible so they pay you to go away.

A few years back I was walking along Pall Mall towards Trafalgar Square where my car was parked. Suitcase trundling behind me, I crossed Waterloo Place between two parked cars, about 10 yards apart. As I looked to my right I saw the driver of the car on the right  - incongruously a lime green Fiat Punto - was leaning out of the window pointing a machine gun at the car to my left and, therefore, also at me. I shifted! Hidden behind a tree opposite I surveyed the scene and noted all the details. It was early on a Sunday morning so the place was deserted and there was no one to ask and nor did I have a mobile phone on me.

What to do? As the car park was only a stone’s throw away I thought I would ask the attendant but he was as clueless as me as we batted “bloody hells” back and forth for a couple of minutes. I put the suitcase in the car and returned to the scene, now deserted. However I saw a porter in an office building adjacent so I asked him if he had witnessed this. “Yes,” he said, “a film shoot”. But I swear there were no cameras in sight as I was watching what was happening.

Came in from the garden and thought I'd have a cuppa and do a bit of channel hopping to see if there is anything of interest on daytime telly.  First programme showed police and immigration officers attending a property where they found a guy who was a failed asylum seeker.  He had a warrant out for him because he had failed to report to the immigration centre.  Because there were no criminal charges outstanding the police had no interest in him, and immigration officers simply served him with a notice ordering him to attend the immigration centre.  No surprise that he didn't attend and is no longer living at that address.
Second was a guy who rented land and a building in a remote section of a farm allegedly to run a fencing business from.  A couple of months in, the farmer's son went to check the place out and found several thousand tons of waste dumped there.  Environment Agency investigated and discovered he had made at least £30k from his waste removal activities.  Taken to court he was fined £5k with no order to reinstate the property and remove the waste.  Bill to the farmer so far is in excess of £100k as there was a lot of asbestos in the waste.

I tried to ring the AA earlier to stop them automatically renewing my car insurance. I rang 5 times and got cut off every time just after getting through the lengthy automated system. So I rang a different number, sat on hold, asked to be redirected, sat on hold, then got told they can't speak to me as my wife is the main driver. :|  I told them I didn't need them to speak to me just listen but they wouldn't listen either. So my wife came home and rang the number, got straight through and cancelled in under 4 minutes. Now she's rolling her eyes at me and claiming I make these things hard on myself.

Oddly though there's an email address for complaints to the AA but I can't just reply to their renewal offer email to say "no thanks, your offer of a renewal premium that is £80 more expensive than last year and £200 more expensive than my cheapest quote isn't of interest to me."

The week hasn't been bad but today has been pretty crappy.

    Ouch WE.  Bad timing.

Went to have blood drawn for the annual MOT this morning and my veins went into hiding.  She finally found one which gave her one phial and then shut down.  Ended up filling the other arm full of holes to get the other 5 phials she needed.  I now have very colourful inner elbows!

Haven't had that much bovver in years......
