I was surprised to find the ones that I left outside over winter growing away. I'd taken down the baskets but forgot to take out a couple of plants to overwinter inside. I've taken some cuttings off the new growth but they're not rooted yet.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
1st photo is of hanging basket from last year put in greenhouse over winter and now flowering again in April 2021. There's an ivy leaf geranium in there also as you may notice.
2nd photo is of cuttings from hanging basket above. I have had about 20 cuttings from that one hanging basket so far.
And the third and final photo is of Red Velour sown from seed collected from last years plants. This is just two trays of 6 I have sown.

Thinking of planting them out into approx 1m troughs (night temps look good, but I can fleece if necessary...). If I’m to intersperse with nicotiana (which aren’t ready to go out yet) how many should I plant per trough...?
I always overplant so, reining myself in, I might go for three per trough. Red Velour do like to scramble up through things and I fear the nicotiana would be overwhelmed. I would be inclined to restrict the planting to Red Velour only and shove in some bushy but reasonably unobtrusive prunings about a metre high for the petunias to grow up and through.
Aw... but @kili says it would be nice with my red nicotiana...! Decisions, decisions... But good news I'll only need three per trough... Need to find somewhere else to put the others now!

@Janie B - I love the colour block impact of lots together, so I have just planted them on their own so far. Sarah Raven has found a mini dahlia to match, which is quite mad.
I didn't know you could grow dahlias in window boxes.
