@s.wellalage Yes, in fact you could do it now if the weather stays dry. I would recommend raking it rather than using a chemical type moss killer. That's just my personal preference of course. You can use moss killer if it's a big area, or you'd just rather, but if you do, make sure you read the instructions ! So many people just chuck it on, and that's not a good idea !
As above I'd give it a thorough rake to thin out the moss, aerate the ground and reseed with grass.
As for mushrooms - our lawn did that one winter, grew absolutely tons of ink caps which made a right 'orrible mess. Things like old tree stumps can encourage them, which seemed to be the case as they were growing all around one. In the end though I just left it alone and the next year it was fine... so fingers crossed you may have the same luck!
