Hmm not convinced either.  If it is sanguinaria, should be coming into flower soon? I’ll keep an eye on it.

Will be interesting to see what the flower comes out like. As others have said it don't look like a weed yet it looks familiar. It reminds me of one I have which has a yellow buttercup
Type flower.which is in flower about April

Could it be Macleaya, or Plume poppy?

Could it be Hellebors Argutifolius Corsicus. I have this in my garden. I'm going by the leave.

I’ll check my hellebores, see if I have that one Dee73.
I noticed I have 2 patches of these seedlings. I’ll have a look and see if any are a bit further along than my first pic.

It do's seem to self seed, I find them in the garden pot them up and give them to family and friends. So even if it's not one of yours it could have blown in in which case you have a freebie.

Ah ha, I do have that hellebore! Is that it do you think?  I post....
    1. a pic of my hellebore leaf, looking a bit tatty
    2. another of the seedlings.

I was wrong though, I don’t have 2 patches of seedlings, the second area is something else, similar but not the same.
    3. 2nd patch.

My baby hellebores have three leaflets ... they don’t look at all like your unknown leaves.

Just having another try at this as they are a bit further advanced. They aren’t very nice are they?
     Any ideas? Where is silversurfer?
