I noticed @pitter-patter already mentioned Gypsophila. They like sun or part shade. I have some bulbs ready to go out and I am going to put them in beside the VB. I hope it will give a delicate white and purple cottagy effect.
Some of the white alliums would also work if planted en masse. I'd second the white daisies [there are quite a few] the veronica, and the centaurea. It also provides a bit of support. I bought a small plant last year, and I have some Verb. bon behind it, if it's still alive. You could also try some of the white geraniums. They cope well enough with hotter, drier sites once established. What about some small, white flowering shrubs? Hebes would be good there.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
A few more to add to the list, thanks. VB Lollipop is quite a bit shorter so don't need anything that tall, also the space isn’t that big. I’m leaning toward Veronica or Achillea Ptarmica so have ordered both and will see how I feel. I already have some white geraniums on order for this part of the garden, plus a couple of Echinacea White Swan I plan to move from somewhere else where they are getting swamped (which may or may not survive the move). All that should up the white quotient sufficiently!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
I love those centaureas so have tried them here. They don't like it in full baking sun and drought tho may do better if the soil has been well enriched. They did very well in my Belgian garden but had loads more rain.
I do have a white gaura in that same bed and it does very well.

Some good picks but I like Eryngium option rasingirl picked out.
could try Echinops Artic glow or star frost - Leucanthemum - white Anemone plenty to pick from ( wild swan would pick out the purple well but it can be temperamental ) - Agastache Alabaster - Penstemon white wedding - dahlia bishop of dover - Phlox white admiral / mount fiji / david can be chelsea chooped to make smaller - sanguisorba white tanna or other white ones - sedum autumn charm maybe ? - Agapanthus plenty of white ones . Is they not any white nepeta ? not sure if salvia been said already . Can think of anymore at the moment.
Eryngium was mine too Perki, sadly it was out of stock. I think I will end up with the veronica, I like the contrast of flower spikes with the VBR. White liatris or agastache would give a similar look but might be better with the taller VB rather than lollipop.
