Rgirl, they really are. I spent quite a lot of time on Sunday moving hundreds of primroses from one end of dinosaur island (the end that is 'deep time') to the other, where some flowering plants are permitted. As I dug, I decided it was futile - for every mature plant there were tens of seedlings nearby. And there were LOTS of mature plants. We'll just have to enjoy them and have them surrounding creatures that would never have seen a flower.

Morning all. Still misty here. I'm having my hair cut at 9 then a filling at the dentist at 10. Lots of dahlias sprouting in the tunnel and now I've planted masses of agapanthus, I've got spare pots, but I've not even started sowing seeds. What to do , what to do??
Morning @Hostafan1 👋 i got the canna and the hedychium repotted yesterday ... the canna is happy in the studio and the hedy is on the terrace next to the fig. I took a big decision yesterday ... the Campsis radicans had outgrown its large container and wasn’t doing well, and yesterday I found a few scale insects on it 😠 so it’s gone in the council garden waste bin. OH wants to put our Euphorbia mellifera in that container and keep it on the terrace by the big studio sliding doors. With OHs help yesterday the potatoes and peas went in ... today I’ll pick the last of the purple sprouting broccoli and pull the plants up. The runner beans will go there a bit later ... today I’ll sow Swiss chard, radish and golden beetroot. We’ve got rain promised for next week so that’ll get them going. I may sow some radicchio too ..🤔

Morning all, morning Dove x, afternoon Pat, best wishes to your OH, glad you aren't having to travel so far for treatment now x Hello Hosta, love the sound of the new bed, what grasses do you have in there? X Hello Lilyp, best wishes to you and your daughter, I hope her procedure went well and you were able to enjoy your lunch with your sister x I've woken fairly early, although not as early as when I was working weekends! We have a nephews wedding reception this evening but a whole day to potter in the garden! The cats have told me they are spending the day out there and want me to come too, so as long as I keep gloves on I should be ok to smarten up later! 🤔 Second coffee calling me first...Have a lovely day folks!
@Dovefromabove, I'm on the verge of dumping the hedychium. Even after the long hot summer we had last year, I didn't get s single flower from them. I know they're good as foliage plants, but I'm not carrying passengers. Grrr.
Very odd @Hostafan1 ... ours flowered it’s socks off until the first frosts. Perhaps it’s happier in a container. I give it tomato feed when I feed the tomatoes. Look at all those flower spikes ... and they just kept coming 💕 it’s a bit tangled with the canna in that pic.
