Morning all. Thinking of you, LilyP and Pat. I'm so glad OH's treatment can be close to home, Pat.
I've finished jury service now, and am trying to forget about it. I wake up each morning with evidence running through my head, so I'm not there yet. It was a very interesting experience so I'm glad I did it, and I would do it again, but... it was hard.
Lovely sunny day here, which I don't think was forecast, so I'm about to head outside and get my hands dirty. I haven't planted any seeds except a few chillies and tomatoes yet, so I need to make a start on that. I love my garden in this light - it's north facing and gets next to no sun over the winter - when the sun gets high enough in the sky to actually get to the garden it always lifts my spirits.
Have a great trip, Chicky. And a good day, everyone.

Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! A sharp sliver from a bamboo cane just went right through the pad of my fingertip!!! There was a bit sticking out both sides! OH got some tweezers and pulled it out but it’s still very Ouchy!!!

Been a busy day here. Up and out by 9:15 to go to the prefecture which is only open on Wednesday pms and Friday ams. "Exceptional closure today" sign at reception. Fine.
Headed off for coffee then the fabric store for curtain rings and thread then the DIY store for some feet to raise one of the radiator covers 5cm and then decided we were hungry. Lunch at the restaurant which does the best frites and Charolais burgers. Eclectic mix of people in business suits, office lunch groups, shoppers like us and chaps in labourers' boots and day-glo trousers and fleeces.
Thence to the SM for the weekly raid and home via France Rurale where we bought compost, veggie plugs, 2 globe artichokes to replace the ones the under-gardener "weeded" and a Harlow Carr rose for me. Had a furkle in the hen houses too to check perches and nesting boxes. 270€ for a 2 hen house!! Lovely fuchsia pink hen feeders too. I'll get one when OH isn't looking.
Green asparagus for dinner. Ours isn't big enough yet so had to buy some.
Enjoy your weekend everyone.

The new border now has about 30 odd grasses and about 40 agapanthus planted. Glorious day but around 3 ish it became a bit cloudy and I think we've a mist rolling in from the sea.
Best wishes to LP and her daughter and to Pat E and her OH.
Managed to get a bit of gardening done this week - early crop veg seeds sown, clearing and weeding the veg beds, first cut of the grass, a small amount of mulching. Not much but it's a start and it's been lovely weather. Primroses are fabulous this year

Morning all.
Also sending my best wishes to @Pat E and her OH, and to @Lily Pilly and her daughter.
Another lovely day but it was only 2° at 8am. Gardening this afternoon. Various indoor jobs this morning.

And so it goes on. What a farce.
Ouch Dove! Made me wince.
Did some weeding this afternoon.
Going to stay the weekend with daughter 1 tomorrow. She's planted loads of roses in her garden over the last couple of years.
My under gardener is pretty good too. Off to see what Dove's UG has been up to.
